My dog's name is Lulu. We think she originally came from Jamaica, and got sent to South Korea. We went on a site called AnimalRescueKorea.org and found her name as 'Lovely Lulu.' That is a fact actually, I have three siblings, and she has never bitten, hurt, of scratched any of us. Her past is a little sad, she was abused and thrown out of the home she was living in. When she was finally taken in, she was used as a breeding dog. (Because even at such a old age, they knew her puppies would look as good as she does.) She was put into a foster home, and was not adopted for a while, that is, until we stumbled upon her photo. She was the perfect dog for a mother and father with two preteens, and two elementary school kids, plus young cousins who often visit.
It is not just her past that makes her special, because there are many dogs who have been abused in the past, it is her emotion. I used to have a bird named Autumn and he sadly died a few years ago. Lulu was so depressed. She wasn't her usual happy self, she was that mourning dog, who had lost a good friend. She grieved right along with us. Sadly now she is getting pretty old, and we are moving soon. My mom says that our new home, will likely be Lulu's last home. So I want to savor every moment I have with her. And that is why I think Lulu should be honored.
Lulu loves when we go for walks, and constantly loves adventure. My family and I travel a lot, so we have been all around the country. We have learned that she really likes tropical places like beaches, fancy hotels with pools, and walking around the street markets at night. Lulu is such an affectionate dog, she constantly falls asleep in our beds with us. She is just such a chill dog. She was actually my very first dog, and second pet. My sister and I always wanted a dog, but my oldest sister doesn't actually like dogs, (which is crazy)- and neither does my dad and brother, sometimes I wonder if they are actually human. So, half of us like dogs and the other half doesn't. But I am so happy that we got her.
She is a classic old dog. She is not as active as she used to be. She mainly just lays in bed all day, and comes down stairs for a snack. However, as soon as we open the window, she is immediately drawn to it. She loves the wind here in Chicago, and could sit on the bed, with wind in her face, in the sun rays all day.
When we get home, she runs up to us and starts jumping. It is actually quite a relaxing scratch after a long day. She loves to cuddle and chill next to a window. I could never ask for a better dog.
