We rescued Comet from the Waterford Humane Society. He was abandoned there by his previous family who did not want to manage or care for his food allergy. When he was surrendered he was missing large amounts of hair, rashes and scabs all over his body. In the last three months in our care Comet has come so far. All of his fur has grown back we found a great food for his allergies and he is enjoying life. He loves car rides the beach and the baseball park! He is the best decision we've made!
Since adopting Comet on February first after fostering him for two months he has been nothing but pure joy. Comet is a complete cuddle bug who will maul you with kisses. He loves to be on your lap or in between us while we sleep all sprawled out. There is nothing better than coming home to him and seeing him so excited to greet us. You can see on his face and through his behavior how appreciative and grateful he is now that he has a loving caring home.
Comet had it rough with his first family, as a puppy-puppy he developed a food allergy which caused awful hair loss and an immense amount of stress. He was an absolute mess, balding and suffering from skin rashes when he was surrendered at the local humane society. Although he is now 70 lbs and the healthiest hes ever been he still thinks he's a lap dog. He loves to adventure through the park and the beach where we usually take him every Sunday. Comet has made many new friends being the friendliest dog on the block. He is a quick learner too! He can now shake and lay down on command, it may seem miniscule, but he has come a long way to barely be able to walk properly on a leash or know how to sit. Over the summer we plan on enrolling him in obedience/training courses and eventually we hope he will be able to become a certified therapy dog. We love him!
