Sugar Plum came into my life four years ago, after I lost my previous dog, Suzi, a Shih Tzu. Sugar was rescued from a puppy mill, where she had been for her first three years of her life. She had already lost all of the puppies that she had given birth too, as well has her vision in one eye due to dry eye.
So Sugar needed special attention, and lots of love, which, I believe she would agree she is getting. Because of her background, she is a very nervous little dog, and has never really learned to be playful with dog toys. But she is great company, and loves to go with me in the car, when weather allows it.
Everywhere she goes, people comment on how cute she is, especially in her own car seat. She certainly draws attention, with her painted nails and ribbons in her hair.
She has been great company for me, and I believe she is settled in and enjoying her home here with me. She sleeps in bed with me each night.
Sugar is very sweet but very shy with most people and she doesn't play any games or chase any balls, I guess her beginning life in a puppy mill really made a huge difference in her personality. She sleeps in my bed and never uses a dog bed that I had for my last dog. She loves to go walking and visiting one of my best friends, will bark whenever my doorbell rings or if she sees my neighbor drive into her driveway so I always know when she has come home which is good as she also baby sits Sugar. Sugar Plum is my very special girl.
