I have wanted a Bedlington terrier since I was a small child. They're rare in the USA, so I figured that someday I would reach out to a breeder, get on a waiting list, and eventually get a puppy. While working in an animal shelter however, a six-month -old Bedlington came in as a stray. I figured that someone would be along to claim her right away, but just in case I put a note in her file that if she wasn't claimed during her stray hold, I would like to adopt her. Amazingly, nobody stepped forward to claim her and I was able to bring her home!
Bedlam lives up to her name, she has brought so much energy and fun into our lives! She loves everyone she meets, especially men! She learns quickly with things like leash manners, but we have not been able to teach her not to jump on people. As wild as she can be though, she has good instincts about when to tone it down. She has a new human baby sister at home, and she immediately knew not to jump on anyone holding baby and to treat baby with utmost gentleness. She has also accepted the huge changes to her daily life with grace, and I try to make that up to her with wet food (her favorite!) and extra treats.
SBedlam is the softest, sweetest, most wonderful dog I could ever ask for.
