Banjo is a one-year-old Golden Brindle Tibetan Terrier. He lives with me and his friend, Piccolo (another Tibetan Terrier) in the Catskill Mountains in New York State. Tibetan Terriers are not Terriers at all, but are part of the non- sporting group of the AKC. They were bred as companion and guard dogs by Tibetan monks, when Tibet was still a Theocracy.
Banjo is a very happy, sweet-natured little guy whose greatest joy is in pulling on Piccolo's ear, or tail, or paw! He's a wonderful watch dog (but I suspect would show any burglar where the family heirlooms are stored) and has a really wonderful bark that sounds like a yodel. But his greatest joy comes in sitting on my foot when I'm working, or getting underfoot in the kitchen when dinner is being prepared. He lives in hope that a sirloin steak is going to drop on the floor!
