What makes Barkley special is that he tries to open the back door with his nose. He is still a youngster at two and half years old, and trying to figure things out like that. He is very curious - and uses his nose for everything - sniffing, greeting, nudging a human who is not paying enough attention, and more!
That latter bit tends to happen if your attention lags when playing fetch - I guarantee your arm will wear out long before his enthusiasm. And heaven forbid you get distracted by a phone call or text and don't notice the ball - or stick, or toy, or whatever the session's object of choice is - dropped at your feet. A subtle nudge, then a not-so-subtle poke of the nose will help you refocus on what's important!
Barkley's nose is also better than any alarm clock - a cold damp nose to the arm or cheek does not have a "snooze" button, after all! He is a good boy, and we love him very much.
