This is Tucker, and he is a Cairn Terrier. People sometimes ask if he's a Scottie, but Cairns come in blonde or brown or black coats. He was named after Tucker Carlson. This name fits the bill because like his newscaster namesake, he is very vocal and proud, and in true terrier form, he definitely does everything his way and never gives up!
As a Cairn, he has a classic double coat - hard/wiry on top, and soft underneath. The wiry surface coat protects the breed when it is out hunting vermin - the job they were bred to do. But the soft undercoat keeps him insulated - warm when it's cold out, and cool when it's hot out - more often here in Florida. But he does not require trips to the groomer as often as, like, a poodle. When he does though, he gets a new bandana and knows he looks extra handsome!
