This sweet dog is my grandpuppy Mysti. She is the apple of her Daddy's eye.
I am a confirmed cat lady but when my son adopted Mysti from the shelter I immediately fell in love for the first time with a dog. Mysti lives with three cats, her Daddy, Mommy and the newest addition into her family, Miss Hannah who is now five months old. Myst just looks at Hannah indifferently, not really caring about one more member of the clan. Just someone else to protect if need be. She really does love one of the cats, TigerLily and they cuddle together often.
Gramps and I take care of Mysti when Daddy and Mommy go out of town. She LOVES to come visit and we spoil her very much. She is very old now and lost much of her energy but she still jumps for joy and wags her tail whenever she sees our car drive up. Myst is super protective of what's hers. Must be the German Shepard in her. She needs to be introduced to any stranger before they are welcomed into her home. But once you pass that test her Lab genes take over and you become her bestest new friend.
She isn't much of an outside dog. She goes out for walks, does her duty and will frolic in the yard. She loves rolling around in the snow and she loves to swim. But usually she prefers to be inside with her human companions. She is a loyal best friend to all of us and I am so happy I experienced the uncondiotional love a dog gives you. I am still a confirmed cat lady but Mysti opened my heart and she will always be my bestest grandpuppy.
