Princess Daisy is currently six years old. She is a German Shepherd/Labrador mix, as best we can tell. Daisy and my cat Sophie are my Fur kids and are really wonderful sisters to each other, despite being a dog and a cat respectively. My father rescued Daisy after he discovered her, she had apparently been dumped in the middle on nowhere when she was just a few months old. How anyone could have done that is unthinkable - she was the cutest little bundle of black fur you could ever want to meet as a puppy. And we had no idea she would grow into such an elegant, shiny lady!
Daisy is very smart - she really takes after her shepherd side in more than looks (no offense to Labs intended). When you talk to her, she tilts her head to indicate she is listening, and she learned all her commands very quickly. But the best part is seeing her with Sophie, who is a tabby and white kitty. You'd never know they are species that are supposed to be enemies. As big as Daisy is, she is always gentle with Sophie, and guards her like a true shepherd. I love them dearly like my own blood.
