We never owned a larger breed dog before when Kilo came to live with us. I've always had smaller dogs and never thought I would like having a larger dog. But, boy, was I wrong! From day one, Kilo has been the most affectionate, playful, and gentle dog. He loves his family with all he has and has earned a special place in my heart.
He went to "school" when he was about three months old, where he learned several tricks such as sit, stay, off, down, and our most favorite -- play dead. Once he's in the down position, we can say "bang, bang" and he lays down and won't get up until we give him the command. I know this might not be a big deal to a lot of dog owners, but it's the first time I've had a dog that could do tricks! It's amazing what they can be taught.
Kilo has loved and protected his "babies" (my two granddaughters who are now toddlers) since the day they were born. He knows it's his job to protect them and keep them safe.
I couldn't imagine life without my Kilo, who I also call by the nicknames of Boobers and Boobie. He has brought our family so much joy.
