Introducing Trooper Grace M., she is approximately five years old. She is mixed mini lassie breed, she now resides with me, her mommy Jeanne M., (widowed in 2020) in Jasper Alabama.
The year 2023 was a very difficult year for both of us, as I lost both of my fur babies, first my NotNasty in June, and then my Momo in November. In December of 2023, Trooper Grace lost her humans with no one to care for her. I believe God placed us together, and we have such a strong bond, and are taking care of each other. Joy, laughter and happiness has been restored to my home once again.
I have been training Trooper Grace many new things, to let me know when she has to go out, as she was using a doggy door with her previous owners. She is so quick to learn, is so smart, and now she offers her paw to me to say thank you when I give her a freeze-dried chicken treat. I so feel like she is both of my fur babies now in Heaven wrapped into one fur baby. I am one grateful fur baby mommy. She is very affectionate, always ready to give kisses, and has a loving grateful personality, good listener and quick to learn, and very well mannered.
When I adopted her, she had a bad knee, always walking on only three legs, she was overweight, and my vet was concerned she may need knee surgery, but made the decision to treat her with anti-inflammatory medications and put her on a diet to get some weight off. She is now, after two months of treatment, at a healthy weight of 38 pounds and is now walking on all 4 legs. She loves to ride in my truck, visiting Tractor Supply, picking a new toy, also loves play dates with other friends. Her favorite play time is tug a war with her many toys, tummy rubs, and sitting on my lap, loving on me... I am 4'10 and she thinks she is a little lapdog; she loves to lay her head on my shoulder while I sing songs to her. She sleeps through the night, and of course sleeps with me.
