At
three months old, Ally she was with her litter and somehow broke her front
left foot. The owners were going to "dump" her because they couldn't sell
her. My girlfriend sent me her picture, and I had her bring Ally to our
house. We fell in love with her. The vet said her foot couldn't be repaired,
so we opted to have her leg amputated, at their recommendation. She has back
problems that we deal with, but she's the most wonderful dog. We're so glad
we adopted her. She gives us so much love every day!
Ally loves to go for short walks wearing her harness. It's remarkably hard to
find a harness for a three-legged dog! She loves to lay on our laps to watch
TV (have you seen the show 'Too Cute'? Lots of puppies & kitties - she loves
it.) She doesn't act like she has three legs most of the time. Playing on the
floor with her 'brother' Spock (another rescue - dachsund/minpin) is a
favorite thing. I throw 'Angry Bird' stuffed toys and they fetch them!
Her love for my husband is really sweet. She loves to lick him on his ears and face. I'm so glad they are happy with each other.
