Orson, the Dog of the Day
Name: Orson
Age: Nine months old
Gender: Male Breed: Border Collie
Home: Dunbartonshire, Scotland

Hello, my name is Orson and I'm a border collie, that's a type of sheepdog apparently. I've never seen a sheep before so I don't really know what it is. I love going for walks and meeting people and dogs, and making friends with them. Mum says not everyone wants to be my friend, but I still try anyway. I love to eat, I think it's the best thing in the world, I would eat all day if Mum let me. She likes to call me 'the Bear', partly because my name means 'little bear' and partly because I growl a lot when I play with my toys, she says I sound like a grizzly bear. I have a toy bear, he's a polar bear, he sleeps with me in my bed every night. My favorite game is to sit on Mum's bed and drop toys on my brother's head. My brother's name is Oliver, he's a collie too. Sometimes he gets mad at me for dropping toys on his head, I think it's funny. Mum doesn't agree, she puts me into timeout for playing this game. I don't like timeout.

Every morning I like to jump onto Mum's bed and give her hugs and kisses, sometimes I accidentally punch her in the nose. Apparently that hurts. I love going to the park, I like to race with my brother and sister. Sometimes I have so much fun just running around that I don't pay attention to where I'm going, so occasionally I accidentally run over my sister. She's a toy poodle, so she's a lot smaller than me, and she's a sort of off-white color which kind of blends in with the grass ... if you squint ... really hard, so really it's not my fault that I don't always see her. She still get angry with me anyway.

I enjoy 'borrowing' things from my brother and sister, like bones for example, because bones taste better when they're stol- I mean, 'borrowed.' And if my brother is playing with a certain toy, I'll 'borrow' it without his permission while he's still playing with it. He doesn't mind, he likes to see me happy. Sometimes I'll 'borrow' my sister's bed too, it's very small, too small for me some might say, but I still manage to squeeze in. I'm sure the dirty looks she gives me means that she's impressed.

I think that's just about everything there is to know about me, it was nice talking to you. Do we hug now?
