I
got Cisco four years ago from the pound. When I first met him in the
kennel, he was so depressed (and later I found out sick with kennel
cough), that he simply curled up in my arms and closed his eyes. When I
brought him home about ten days later, he did the same thing!
He has come along way since those days. He is more trusting of people and
much more loving! He loves our family and friends, but he is still
especially attached to me. If I leave the house for the day, he will
refuse to eat or go out on walks until I get home...although he can be
coaxed to eat if he is served in bed!
He did not know even the most rudimentary commands when I met him. But
with us, he has taken many classes, including tricks. He knows the basics,
plus how to twirl, sit up like a squirrel, agility, and our goal is for
him is to say his prayers before he is ten and a half! He loves training,
and he is so good at it!
He fancies himself an art critic and helps us decorate the house. We have
to take down pictures because when he doesn't like something, he barks and
lunges at it...constantly.
Another of his favorite activities is "Stations of the Sun," lounging in
one sun patch to the next throughout the day.
Finding photos of Cisco can be a little challenging. He loathes the
camera, and, as you can imagine, he is particularly wary of getting his
picture taken! If he notices you raising an old fashioned camera or a
phone to snap a shot of him, Cisco starts growling, barking, and jumping
right at the lens. We always say, before you shoot, talk to his agent!
Over the four years that I have had him, Cisco has become an ace cuddler.
He sleeps in the crook of my arm, with his little chin resting on my
elbow, every night. He gives me one of the sweetest moments of my day every day!
