We got Sam by accident. My dad's patient was going to Africa for a year
and wanted to give away her dog. My uncle said he would take the dog,
but when my dad picked him up, my aunt said that she wouldn't take Sam
because they already had a dog. I had begged my dad for years for a dog
and he always said no, but since nobody else could take Sam, we ended up
keeping him!
He turned out to be a really silly dog. He's a little "ugly" by most
peopless standards, and has bug eyes and an underbite with a funny
tooth that sticks out, but we all still think he's the cutest dog ever.
He loves running around in the rain and making my mom mad by getting
muddy. He sneezes a lot when he's excited and we always say that he's
allergic to happiness. When he sleeps on my bed and wants to get down,
he sits on me until I wake up.
We love Sam so much that my brother and I ordered a blanket with his
face on it for my mom's birthday present. We also have funny shirts with
his picture on them. We even take him to my grandma's house every
Wednesday and she had always cooked him food until we learned that he
was overweight. Now - until he's back to a normal weight- he takes my
grandpa on walks and runs with me.
Sam came into our lives as an accident, but none of us could imagine
life without him!
