My husband and I adopted Missy Mae from our local shelter when she was 10 months old. My husband took one look at her and yelled, "Let's take THIS one." Could have been something to do with the big, sloppy, wet kiss she gave him through the kennel fencing. We took her home that day.
She is an amazingly loving and placid dog - she is the 'big' little sister of three mature and much grumpier chihuahuas (all rescues) whom she is extremely tolerant and patient with. She will even share her food with them!
Missy Mae passed her Canine Good Citizen test last year and is working on her Companion Dog Title now. She is smart, learns fast and loves her classes and every dog and human in them.
We have fostered dogs, puppies and kittens. Missy Mae nurtures them all. Such a gentle soul. There is no being that she can't make a friend of.
Missy Mae runs daily with me through the Trinity National Forest, swimming in the creeks and lakes along the way. Always eager to go hiking and backpacking in the Trinity Alps - she especially enjoys this when a dog or human friend tags along. The more the merrier. She has sooooo many doggie friends!
Missy Mae's favorite things are: People, Dogs, Swimming, Running, Ravines (yikes), Tuff toys Bones, Car journeys, Sofa naps, Snow, Forests and the Beach.
Missy Mae lives life to the fullesy. A social being and a party animal, she is a joy to be around. Life without Missy Mae would be a dull life indeed. We are so glad we found her!
