Harlie is very special to me. She is a German Shepherd/Husky, and Lab/Collie/Shetland Sheepdog mix, according to the shelter. Every day and night when I'm with her I can tell she loves being with me. She is my first dog and she's been the best one I've known. She's very laid back and loves to play outside. She love being around kids and other animals. She's ok with some dogs but will warm up. She is really smart, she knows a lot of commands, and even knows math. I've taken her to pet shows and she has won awards for being the smartest dog and the friendliest.
She may not be a purebred, but to me she is a lot more pure with her heart. She loves going for truck rides, she will race me to the truck! She will alert me if someone is coming up, she isn't great with strangers, but if they are nice to her, she will calm down. (Still working with her on that.) We go on long walks, even if we go to a park that is out of town, I know she loves it. She does not try to herd us, just the cats. I actually trained her to chase them (she plays with them, so no harm). It's very amusing and they all get exercise! The only one she won't try to chase is my thirteen-year-old cat. She knows better than that!
I've been raising her since she was a young pup. She used to be someone else's dog but she would rather be with me over anyone else. Every time I walk in the living room or outside where she's at, she looks up at me with her beautiful brown eyes and starts wagging her tail. I don't think I've ever gotten love from someone before like I do with her. She will always be a Dog of the Day every day to me.
