Hazel is a very special puppy in my life. This is why:
Our family dog Sandy, a beautiful husky, died at a young age of four, after she contracted a disease. It happened without warning and there was no signs that Sandy was sick. But I noticed the day before she died she was looking 'down' and anyone with pets they love will know exactly what I mean. That day my family was very busy and we had no time to see to her, but Sandy was very special to me. Before she died, she said goodbye to me in her own special way, which I will hold dear to me. She nuzzled my hand and lay in my lap, as big as she was. I just knew she was unwell.
But then my father took me and my brother to pick out a puppy for my mother a few weeks later. Now one thing Sandy had, were these beautiful big hazel-ish green eyes. And when I saw all the Dachshund puppies, only one of them had those exact same eyes. She may have been the runt of the litter but I instantly picked her out.
Turns out she was the right choice after all! Hazel is unique and amazing, she wakes me up every morning by going on my bed and nuzzling my neck under the covers and ends up napping with me like that till I'm fully awake.
Like all puppies, she is ever ready to play. She is stunning and has a pixie-like face as well as unique features, but the most unique is her hazel eyes. Hazel makes every day very special to me and as odd as it sounds, it is as if a part of Sandy is in her the way she acts. I love her very much.
