Buffy the Rough Collie, the Dog of the Day
Name: Buffy
Age: Eight and a half years old
Gender: Female Breed: Rough Collie
Home: Rodgau, Germany

Buffy is my first dog of my own. We (my family and I) had three other dogs before her (another Collie named Sandy (sadly she was not alive at Buffy's time), a German Shepherd named Kira, and her mom Jenny).

Buffy was born on the 13th of March in 2008. She was the smallest pup out of the nine pups of Jenny. I always played with all the pups in the garden but somehow the other pups never really played with Buffy and Buffy didn't want to play with them because they were too wild for her so I looked after Buffy more in the end. She was always quite a calm dog and wasn't loud, she didn't bark that much like her siblings. We decided to keep Buffy because she was the smallest and I fell in love with her.

As Buffy grew up I trained her a lot. I went with her to dog school sometimes, but we were always the best and it got also boring because we sadly didn't learn anything new there. I took part of two competitions at this dog school and I won both times. Buffy is just the best and she listens so well!

Buffy always loved to play with her mom and sometimes she also played with Kira. Shortly after Buffy turned three we needed to let Kira go. I believe Buffy tried to comfort me. It was really hard to lose Kira. I knew her since I was born. Buffy always cuddled with me and came to me when I cried because of that. We wanted that Buffy gets puppies too but sadly it didn't work out.

Buffy is a dog who gets along with almost every other dog (she can't stand Huskies and I don't know why). At the end of August 2013, her brother Rusty came back to us and they loved each other! They still remember that they're siblings and both played a lot with their mom!

When we brought Luna (17 months now) home she wasn't very pleased because she wasn't the center of my attention anymore. But since I still really loved her, I tried my best to focus my attention on her and she was back to my happy dog!

Sadly we needed to let her mom go in November of 2015 because of an illness! Jenny was 11 and a half years old. It was really hard for the whole family and Buffy really missed her in the beginning. At this time I spent most of the time with my Buffy because she needed it. Luna took it better but she didn't know Jenny for long so she hadn't such a bond with her. In March 2016 Buffy started to have the same illness as Jenny. It's getting worse and worse. I hope she can stay with us some more years but I doubt it. But the hope dies last right?

Buffy has helped me very much in my life and I love her with all my heart! I hope she will stay with me for at least one more year or more and I will make it her the best time of her life! I love you Buffy, and please show me if you can't do it anymore.
