Guss is a ten-year-old red and white basset hound. He has many other names such as, Gussy, Puppy, Baby Boy, Guss Bus, and Gussy Wussy. He truly is an angel! He was MY first dog. The one I could call my own. I got him on my 15th birthday down by Kentucky. It was a long drive there and back. As soon as I saw him I knew he was the dog for me! Hes was so little and had such big ears. He used to trip over them when he was younger. He still does from time to time, its very funny. On our way back home all he did was sleep with me, minus the occasional potty stops. I knew from that moment on he was going to be one lazy dog! And I was right! He has a bedtime, It's at 9:00 pm and once it hits bedtime, good luck getting him to do anything!
Guss is my little boy! We do all kinds of things together. I spoil him so much, I just treat as if he was my baby, well, sorta. If i leave a room or if I go out he'll whine and wait all mopey like until I come home. Guss loves to chase and ride the four-wheeler with me. Yes, he rides the four-wheeler, I sit him on the gas tank in front of me and take off. His ears flap in the wind and he sniffs the air. He loves it. He loves to go on walks too, he pretty much walks himself, he has to have the leash in his mouth at all times. And the strangest thing of all is, Guss loves to go for rides on my horse Spirit. I just set him up there and walk her around. He's got pretty good balance for those stubby little legs hes got. Guss is my little boy and he's my "Dog Of The Day" every day!
