His
name was Dino, and he was the dog of my life. My mom found him and his
siblings in a really bad home, their mom was dead and the puppies couldn't
eat, they didn't have any food. They were seven weeks old, and there was
inbreeding in almost all the dogs there. My mom took them and other dogs home
to herself. She gave them away to good people who take care of them now, and
she took two of them herself. We took Dino, he was underfed and very thin.
Three weeks later he was becoming very healthy and gained weight, he was a
lovely dog and he loved to play outside. When he was turning seven months,
though, he use to fall down so his back legs just fell to the side, and that
was hurting him. We took him to the animal clinic and they took x-rays of him.
When they got the results we got very bad news, the bone and the arthritic
socket of the hip didn't fit. We got medicine to him and hoped it worked. But
two weeks after we got back from the animal clinic it hadn't gotten better.
They couldn't risk surgery on him because he was too young, and they told us
his spine was very malformed as well. So we had to have him put to sleep. He
was in pain the last three weeks but now he is in a very good place, where he is
with his mother and doesn't have any pain. He was just eight months old.
We really miss him, he was so much of joy and he was a very happy dog. I
think he knew he was rescued, he looked very grateful. I miss when he jumped
on the bed to wake us up, and I miss his little barks front of the door when
he wanted to play outside with us.
This happened three months ago and we will always miss everything about him, and
we will always love him. Luckily the other dogs are very healthy.
