Wrigley
is a very unique bi-black Sheltie that people usually don't see. They
usually confuse her with a Border Collie, but she is a kind-hearted Sheltie
(Shetland Sheepdog). Wrigley gets scared easily by some scents (i.e. Asian
Indian dress clothes and smoke). We had some company over wearing traditional
dress clothes and she ran right away from home, across the street, and down
to the neighborhood park. We tested her with some samples, and she moved
away. She does the same with the scent of the oven turning on since burned
food causes the smoke alarm to go off. Her association with smell is very
unique and could be useful to warn us if something is ever out of normal.
Wrigley is also special because she loves to give kisses to everyone she
sees. She enjoys company (except for company wearing clothes that intimidate
her), and loves her home.
We got Wrigley from a breeder in Wisconsin, and had the surprise of taking
her home right away. Our former plan was to take a look at the puppies, see
if it was an option, and come back to Wisconsin to get a sable colored tan
and white Sheltie. When we walked into the house, Wrigley and her sister
enjoyed our company very much. As we left, Wrigley came to the door, and
started crying because she didn't want us to leave. It was hard to say
goodbye, so we picked her up the next day and welcomed her into our lives. We
named her Wrigley for the Chicago baseball field, but soon realized she
chewed everything and found dual purpose in naming (Wrigley gum is also in
Chicago and owned by same family).
