I
helped bring Eve into the world June 10th and she has been a special part
of my life from the first breath she drew. My daughter wanted to name her Eve
because Eve means life - sadly we lost the two pups who were born just ahead
of her, so she was the first one to live after that and my daughter thought
it would be a good name to symbolize her coming into this world. We ended up
with a litter of six beautiful, healthy pups and two of them are still with us.
Eve is special because she makes me smile each and every day. All you have to
do is look at her and her tail wags. When she sees you, it's not just her
big, curly tail that wags, her whole body wiggles.
She has learned to sit, lay down, stay, wait and roll over so far- although
her roll over is more of laying on her back looking at you with those big
blues eyes waiting for a treat.
She loves swimming, running, wrestling and playing with her two sisters,
going for drives in the car. She loves ripping the stuffing out of dog toys -
she has not met a toy yet that she hasn't been able to destroy.
She has so much energy for running outside, but when you are inside she is
snuggled beside you, or laying across your lap. She doesn't realize how big
she is, but she is so soft and lovable that you just have to hug her and
smile. She often lays on her back and absolutely loves having her belly rubbed.
When I was sick over Christmas she would always lay next to me and one day
she brought her favorite bone over and laid it on the couch beside me, she
then nudged it with her nose towards me as if to say "here, this is for you"
- it was the sweetest thing. She is incredibly polite and gentle and just the
sweetest dog ... but sometimes quite a chicken. We've always had dogs, but
something about Eve just melts my heart and I can't imagine my life without
her. She lives her in New Brunswick, Canada with our family and her sister
Mya, who is just as adorable. Her other sister lives just up the road at my
Mom's so my "girls" spend a lot of time together. We live just a couple of
minutes from Grand Lake, so the pups get to spend a lot of time at the lake.
Oh, I must add that she puts up with my constant photo sessions of her and
her sisters ... gotta love that. She is so gentle and lovable. She loves to
cuddle and when she looks at you with those big blue eyes it melts your heart
- you can't help but love her. She's my big baby! :)
