This
is Biscuit, she's a two-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound. We already
had an American Foxhound named Bagel at the time. Well, my boyfriend came
home from work one day, and took a nap, he woke up a couple hours later and
told me he had a dream that we bought another hound puppy that looked like
our Bagel. So, he went on Craigslist, and the very first listing was a four
month old Treeing Walker Coonhound. So we went to see her, and fell in love.
She is the sweetest dog I've ever had, with so much personality. She loves
snuggling and "talking". Biscuit and Bagel are best friends, and totally inseparable.
She is ridiculously friendly, trying to make friends with everyone she meets,
she loves giving kisses and still thinks she is a lap dog! Every morning when
she wakes up, she wakes me up by licking my face or toes (whichever she can
reach), and much to my dismay she even learned how to jump up and flip on the
light switch. Her favorite trick is to play dead, which she instantly drops
to as soon as she sees a treat, and her favorite game is hide and seek. My
boyfriend will run around the house, and hide behind something, and he makes
little sounds to get her attention, and she runs around trying to find him.
If she can't find him she will look at me and do a raspy playful howl, until
he pops out and "scares" her, then she gives him a quick kiss and takes off
so he can catch her.
She is extremely affectionate, and will do anything to get attention and love
like howling, kissing, bringing you toys and stealing your socks. She never
chews clothes up, but she loves to steal them so you have to chase her down!
She is extremely vocal, she loves to greet us when we get home with a low
howling "hello", and also howls/barks/grumbles/bays/talks when she wants to
play, is lonely, or trying to get the neighbors attention. Sometimes her and
our foxhound will both stick their heads under the bed or couch together, and
growl, grumble and mumble like they are having a secret conversation! Her
sounds sound so human like, I don't even know how to begin describing them.
She is such a sweet girl, she just wants to love and play with everyone and
everything. She is also my jogging/hiking partner and absolutely loves to run
around with me and explore new places, especially if there are ponds and
streams nearby, she loves running through the water and playing in the mud.
She loves car rides and sticking her head and one foot out of the window as
far as she can. And she loves her Bagel dog! (Our foxhound) she cleans his
ears and face everyday, and is always playing and snuggling with him! She
evens shares her treats sometimes!
