This
is Crosby. He is the one of the most unique dogs my family has ever
owned. When we got him, we were told that he was part beagle and would not
get any heavier than forty pounds. He now weighs around eighty pounds and
does not show any resemblance to a beagle.
Crosby is his own breed, which is also shown through his personality. He's
the biggest goof you will ever meet. One of his favorite hobbies is staring
out the window. You can usually find him running back and forth from the
front of the house to the back checking his surroundings. But if a stranger
does come inside, he is beyond happy to greet anyone. He is always willing to
give kisses and make a new friend.
If Crosby isn't looking out the window, he is most likely lounging somewhere
in the house. One of his favorite places to relax is the couch in the
basement (which used to not be allowed). He also loves cuddling with his
sister Maddie, a lab mix, or any of us. Strangely, Crosby is afraid of
certain areas on the second floor, so it is unlikely to find him upstairs. It
usually takes a lot of encouragement and help to get him to go to bed at
night. Once he is in the bedroom, though, he will cuddle up next to us and
not leave until the morning.
Crosby's best friend is definitely his sister Maddie. They love being
together and worry when the other one is not around. They are constantly
playing with each other and feed off of each other's energy. When they
believe no one is home, you can often find them howling together. They also
make the funniest noises when they are playing. We often call Crosby
Chewbacca because of the unusual sound he always makes.
Crosby is one of the most easy-going dogs around. He is usually up for
anything, especially cuddling. He is eager to please us and always has a
smile on his face. From his large black spots, to his curly tail, everything
about Crosby is unique. He will always be the biggest goof, but my whole
family loves him to pieces.
Here is a video of Crosby on a mission to get his bone.
