Koda
came into our pack in November, 2011. She was a total wreck of a dog.
She was scared of everything which fueled her aggression sometimes. She
couldn't even walk stairs due to her fear.
Today she is the perfect trail dog. She's good for 20+ miles and is the
friendliest, gentlest dog you would ever meet. She is also the most beautiful
dog I've ever known. With her one blue eye and loving personality you just
have to fall in love with her. She knows around 5-6 pm is time for the
afternoon walk and she is at the door waiting. When she sees me load up the
backpack in the van she runs and jumps in like she's scared you'll leave her
behind. She even knows the difference between the hiking boots and normal
shoes. When the boots come out she is on alert and ready to get in the van
for the day's adventure.
Last year she also learned to play. I thought it sad that a dog had to learn
to play. Tiger, her canine sibling, taught her how to play chase and tag and
hide the bone. On days i have to go to the office, I look forward to coming
home just to experience her welcome home attitude. She is always there to
greet me with a light nuzzle as if to say "glad you're home, we've missed
you." Some people think she has some wolf in her but i think she's a husky,
malamute and maybe some shepherd. No matter what she has in her, she is still
the most beautiful dog I've ever seen.
