We
knew we would take Omar home the first time we saw him, running around,
engaging the other puppies in play. He stood out. Now, larger than most
Dobermans, weighing in at 110 pounds (49.9 kg), Omar Blue is the inspiration
for two published books, a unique adventure blog, participation in many
canine fundraisers and for memberships in several animal awareness groups.
A wonderful companion. Omar and I take long peaceful, therapeutic (for me)
walks. It's during these times I'm able to conjure the ideas for Omar's fantasy adventures.
A spirited animal that loves nothing better than running laps around the
backyard, there is still a calmness about him that comes through when he's
seeking attention, walking or showing the traits of a therapy dog to my
husband, who has a debilitating illness. Born on New Year's Day, he's given
us yet another reason to celebrate.
Omar Blue realizes how lucky he is, not having suffered as some of his canine
buddies have had to. We enter and/or support many fundraising events with
proceeds going to animal well-being organizations. Omar puts his "best paws
forward" in demonstrating how lovable furry companions can be.
Omar Blue also has a blog, My Dog Leads Two Lives,
dedicated entirely to dogs. His special guest pooches of
many different breeds are often adopted pets, and awareness messages are sent
through kind and loving truths and "true tale adventures."
