We
adopted Katy from an organization that rescues shelter dogs that
are on the list to be euthanized. We suspect that she had been abused
and abandoned when she was younger due to her fear of men (except for
the ones in our family), and issues with separation anxiety. However,
she adores children, her toys, and belly-rubs. She's a huge attention-seeker.
Many times we find her lounging on the window ledge, watching the
world go by. She wants to play all the time, and when no one is
playing with her, she will parade around the house with a toy in her
mouth, looking miserable.
Times would come when we would have to leave her alone in the house
for a few hours. Because she has separation anxiety, she would tear
and chew up many things such as the door frames and TV remotes.
However, she has improved a lot and doesn't destroy anything anymore!
Katy's well-behaved and loves to sunbathe. Sometimes we will sit with
her in the front yard while she watches people and dogs in the park.
When she goes on walks in the park, she likes to climb up onto the
tables to sit and watch people pass by.
When we sit on the floor with her, she loves to get comfortable in our
lap and use us as her pillow. She likes playing hide-and-seek and is
very dependent on us. Throughout the day, she will stick to one of us
like velcro. She is a extremely gentle dog, and even when playing
rough, she makes sure not to hurt anyone.
She's an amazing dog and is the baby of the family! She has even won
over the heart of our dad, who used to be afraid of dogs. We love her to death!
