My
Buddy will be four years old in December. He is toy crazy, loves games and
hates bath time. He has learned to put his toys away (toys in box) for treats
of course and loves to jump to catch bubbles. His philosophy in life is that
everything has to be a game. He loves games.
He's very affectionate and he loves his human family. He's more of my dog I
guess, since he follows me everywhere and he listens to me and not my husband
so much. He's not my first big dog no, I had another one back in the 80's, he
was part lab and part bull mastiff but was much bigger than Buddy and way
more Mastiff and so he was a lot calmer. Buddy is completely hyper. In fact,
he was kicked out of doggy daycare because he was non-stop. He has calmed a
little but I doubt he will ever completely calm down.
The reason I guess that I decided to get him was for protection when my
husband is out of town and that's at least once a week. I feel safe going in
the back yard gardening with the dog there. He does love the river and going
for a swim but he hates taking a bath. Actually can't even pick up the hose
outside and he's gone.
He sheds an incredible amount and I guess that's the golden retriever side
coming out. We could make an entire dog out of his shedding. He sleeps in our
bedroom but not on our bed. He has his own large dog orthopedic bed which he
actually pulls out from under our bed at night (wish he'd put it away too).
He loves games and toys and he has a deacon's bench full of toys that is also
his window seat.
He loves it when I bring out the bubbles and blow bubbles for him. He likes
to jump really high in the air, though I'm always afraid he'll hurt himself.
He loves the snow, too, he's a real snow dog. He loves snowballs and chasing them.
I have a videos of him, this one is of him putting toys away.
