We lost our coonhound boy to cancer last year. Just this month we felt we are ready for another dog to honor his memory. I saw Lizzy's picture online at a shelter. Her picture just popped out at me and I couldn't get her out of my head.
I showed my family her listing the next morning and they saw the same thing I did. So, we called the shelter and weren't told much until the day we went to adopt her. She was abused, starved and had never lived inside a home for all of her life. She was emaciated when she came into the shelter, they had to wait to spay her. But they did put 9 lbs. on her while there. So we took her home. She was scared of everything at first being that she never set a paw indoors, she was locked outside all of her life.
Now, what makes our beautiful Queen Lizzy special is she is so resilient and loving despite her awful past. She loves all three of us and is such a great girl. I don't know who could hurt her, but I don't that's for us to figure out. She is now in a loving, warm safe home forever and she seems to know it too! We love our Lizzy and hope we have many more happy, healthy years together. She is just AMAZING!
