Burue
is a very special girl, she's always been a little scared and she gets
easily startled. A few days ago we found out that she's even scared of
pictures of herself. She started growling and whining from just the sight of
herself. She's also scared of Disney Bears, she came over to me and shoved
her gigantic body inside my armpit for comfort.
The reason this is special is actually because I have anxiety, and I'm
struggling with it daily. But it doesn't matter how scared I am, because my
lovely Burue will always come over and comfort me by licking my face, feet or
just simply lying beside me. I can't imagine what I'd do without her, she and
my husband are my lifesavers!
She's also a big lover of, well, just about anything. She loves toddlers,
kids and adults. The weirdest thing is that she's very careful with small
babies, I've never seen anything like it! When I bicycle with her, she'll
lick your hand if you go close enough, yes ... even as we speed. She loves everyone!
Sadly she's got bad allergies. We don't know what she's allergic to yet, so
she can only eat one food from the vet and that wasn't easy for her because
she didn't like it what so ever. She got so thin at one point that she would
have wounds on her elbows just from lying on her blanket on the floor and we
couldn't give her any other food or treats to help out. We decided that
letting her be in our bed was the thing to do and after a while the wounds went away.
On top of that, the vet had a problem with the supplier of that special food.
They didn't deliver it anymore. Luckily they had small 400 grams (14 ounces) packages of
samples leftover and we gave at least four of these a day to Burue for at least
two months, but sadly she didn't even eat that. There where always leftovers.
When they finally got the supplier up again, we looked at the trial food and
there was a big difference. It turns out the sample food had been out of date
the whole time. It was dried up and a completely different color. Poor Burue
had gotten no nutrition, and we were very upset, especially because this
happened during her growth spurt.
Luckily it after we got the correct food, it went well. She's eating great
now and she's getting all the love in the world from her owners who love her
more that anything. Even after all of this she's always cheerful and happy!
Except for when it's raining, she does not like bad weather.
She howls when we're gone, and she sheds like a true Malamute, but nothing
can keep you from loving this friendly dog. She's helped out people who were
afraid of big dogs, making it easier to see that it's not the size of a dog
that matters, it's the dog's temperament.
If you want to make her happy, just bring a 20-meter (66 feet) long leash and a tennis
ball, she'll run for hours! As long as you keep throwing the ball! Her other
favorite thing is Eeyore, from Winnie the Pooh, she has him as a teddie and
she absolutely loves him! It was her Christmas gift 2014 and lucky for us it
hit the spot! She'll lie in our bed and cuddle with him for ages, falling
asleep with him in her paws.
Burue will always be special for us and we'll never stop loving our big furry
Mally! If you would like to see more pictures of Burue, just go to
