This is our Aphrodite. Why is she special? Oh come on ... just look! She's already so loving, and clever, and did I mention loving?
Aphrodite is gorgeous. She is extremely tolerant of Juno (our Jack Russell)'s intolerance of her. She is always up for a cuddle. She's quite feisty and very playful, quite the opposite of graceful as she gallops across the garden, ears flapping, tumbling over her own enormous feet. She's always hungry and is a very quick lesson in not leaving your stuff on the floor, or on the chair, or anywhere she can reach it! We've rescued several shoes from her bed in the short time we've had her. All my sons adore her, and she is so good with them.
I grew up with black Labradors, so it was a natural progression, really. We decided to get her to keep Juno company (HAH! Not that Juno's remotely interested yet ...) but mostly because Labradors are supposed to be very beneficial to autistic children and we hope that she and my son Teddy will grow to love one another over time. She may be not quite 10 weeks old, but she already sits to command, and will sit and wait, even when very hungry, at her full food bowl until you say "good girl!" which impresses us no end. She is precious!
