Kira is my first dog, and she is a crossbreed - she is 25%amp;
German Shepherd and 75%amp; Rottweiler. My grandmother had a
Rottweiler/German Shepherd crossbreed named King, and I have been a
dog-sitter for many of our friends' dogs, so I was glad to get Kira to
be my own dog.
A friend of our's dog had puppies, and she
wanted me and my sister to help her to get the puppies to get used to
kids so when they grew up they would be well socialized around them. She
was happy that we helped her with puppy food and with vet bills, so she
said we could choose one of the puppies for a cheaper price. We choose
Kira because she looked more like a Rottweiler and she was the first
puppy who walked to me. She was also different from the others because
she has that little spot on her chin.
Kira is a quiet dog except for when she is
dreaming or I ask her to bark. Sometimes she barks when dad and I are
playing and she doesn't like how we are playing (like wrestling, and
physical things like that). Kira will bark if she hears somthing in the
forest when we are out, it's like a warning bark to protect us. it's
hard to have her in the car, as she thinks she needs to protect it and
us, so if a person gets too close to the car she will bark.
Kira is very energetic and I do all kinds
of stuff with her at home. I jump with her, I track with her, I do
agility with her, I do obedience with her and even make (
Videos). She can stay, thanks, bark, lie, sit pretty, roll over,
come, search, crawl, stand on her back legs, give me five, give me ten
and more!
She gets along well with our
other dog, Tequila, and with her sisters and brothers - there were 9
puppies in her litter. Kira has no problem meeting a dog when we walk on
the street in our neighborhood, and when we go on a dog course she is
okay with the other dogs. I know no dog can be friends with every dog,
but I have not just found a dog Kira dosen't like just yet - and I am
happy for it! Kira is really good with other people, she is happy to
meet them and she listens when they tell her to stop. Kira just wants
to say hi, and to get scratched and that's all. Wen that is done she
lies down on the floor.
Kira is my love. She is my soulmate; I love her and she is always right there for me. It's a feeling that is hard to put to worlds. More than anything, she is the other half of me.
