What makes Lovie special is she's a rescue dog. Having Lovie in our lives truly is a blessing.
My boyfriend and I always considered getting a dog but never really thought about it.
When we met Lovie, it was a different story. We knew from day one we wanted her. .
Lovie was found running around outside in the cold, my brother and his girlfriend found
her. They tried to find her real owners, but had no luck. They kept her for a few months
and decided they couldn't afford to keep her. They called me so my boyfriend and I went
over to their place, and I fell in love. Lovie sat on my lap and put her head on my chest. I
was sold when I saw her.
My boyfriend and I believe she was mistreated by the way she looked and by the way she
acts. Her fur was so long you couldn't really see her face, we brought her home, let her get
used to everything, and then groomed her, and she looked like a brand new puppy! She had accidents
and when she did she would shake terribly like we were going to hit her (but we never hit
her). She is scared of a lot of things like noises and even people sometimes. She has barely
any teeth and what teeth she has are all rotten and might have to be removed.
Lovie now hardly has any accidents, and gets groomed daily. The vet believes she is
middle-aged so six to nine years old. She is so spoiled. She has so many toys that she doesn't get to play
with them all. She loves to give kisses, play, she loves to run, and loves follow me around.
She is my little tag along and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have social anxiety and she
helps me cope with it. So the real question is did I rescue her or did she rescue me? It does not need to be answered,
she is now in her forever home and that is that!
