Scar is a pup who was a stray and suffered from Demodex mange, then finally found his forever home with us. This is his journey.
Scar was rescued off the streets with his sister, Dema. After many vet bills and months later, he found his forever home with my family. Scar has been a great addition to our family, and he is spunky as ever. We are very lucky to have him as our house comedian.
My friend who fosters dogs came into work one day clearly upset that no one wanted to look at a foster in her care because he was full of scars and infections. She feared that he would never be adopted. I told her to bring him over and I would look at him. I was not looking to get another dog. I just wanted to make her feel better. When she brought the dog out of the car you can see he was in bad shape. He had a severe case of mange and was super skinny from lack of food. She explained that it had been a short time since she got him and that this was a big improvement. I was a little in shock at the word Big. We brought him in the back yard to let him off leash. As that happened my son came into the back yard. I have never seen the look of true love on my teenager's face and of course this mangy dog was so excited to see him. A month and a half later (he needed more healing time) we finally brought Scar home.
Scar loves football. We really should buy stock in the football manufacturing business as much as we have to buy them. He is full of scars from his past but you would never know because he is the happiest dog ever. Scar loves to chew on raw hides and spend time with his boy. He thinks little dogs are scary, but will make the best of friends with cats. Scar and his boy take long walks together and play football every chance they get. His foster mom still comes to visit just to see his beautiful scar-filled face. The photos are Scar before during and after and of course the one in the car is his freedom ride. Because frankly who doesn't love a story with a happy ending!
