Bug is a psychiatric service animal for my severe anxiety. She alerts me to anxiety attacks before they spiral out of control.
Bug is my third border collie mix, and I have owned three generations of her family now. Her grandmother was brought home to be my mother's mobility service dog, however she didn't get as big as we thiught she would and became a family pet, and Bug's mother was a family pet as well. I was halfway across the country for school and Bug was born two days before my graduation in Oct. 2015, and four days before I actually got home. I knew one of those pups would be my service dog for my severe social anxiety and happened to develop a very strong bond with the runt (Bug).
She is always full of energy, ready to play and loves going to her Nanna's house and accompanying me to the store. Her favourite toys are squeaky toys and dirty socks. She also stops whatever she's doing when she notices something is wrong with me- whether I have a migraine, am having a panic attack, or am simply overtired. She has been through several training courses at our local Petsmart, and we couldn't keep her busy enough! Always head of her classes and was taught several tricks (such as roll over and paw) early. She is very special to me.
