This is Jack, he was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was a few months old. There really is nothing worse that seeing a puppy in a seizure. We were told that he would not make it to an old dog and the vets said that he would be lucky to make it to five years old.
Now here we are, eight years old and going strong. Jack has not had any severe seizures in over a year now. Jack is a loveable, loyal, comedic dog. When Jack wants something, you know about it; he will literally talk to you. I often think that if Jack were capable of pronouncing words and having a conversation with you, he would. When we got Jack we also got his sister, Molly as well. When we bought them they were both riddled with horse fleas (the previous owners had let the puppies out on a field before they'd had their injections).
Even though Jack has got epilepsy and is on eight tablets a day (he also has skin allergies) he is one of the happiest dogs I know. A lot of people over the years have said that they couldn't have done for Jack what me and my family have, that they wouldn't have had the patience, but how could we end a puppies life when it had only just started? Because of something that could be treated? We couldn't, and I am happy every day when I see Jack running around outside when we are on our walks, playing with his sister (who is luckily very healthy). Hopefully Jack will stay healthy and keep enjoying his life as he has done so far. I love Jack with all my heart and I believe he loves us with all of his too.
