Penny was abandoned at Yappy Hour at a local pub! She is the sweetest girl and we got very lucky the day we found her. She was underweight and had fleas when we found her, but a few weeks of loving and she was at full strength. The vet thinks she's between two and three years old and we think she's got some terrier in her, but who knows. She's only 30 pounds, so a great size too.
Penny likes to be with the people. Her dream come true is to curl up in your lap and let you scratch her butt while she takes a nap. She's not the most ambitious dog you've ever met, but she definitely likes her new home better than her old home so she's probably just getting caught up on sleep. She likes to play rope but only for a few minutes, then she needs a nap. Every once in a while she gets so excited to see you that she runs wind-sprints from the front of the house to the back to show you how fast and agile she is.
Penny does not like the rain and she especially hates thunder and lightning. We suspect in her previous life she spent too much time outside. If she starts to tremble during a storm all you have to do is put her in a snuggle and she calms right down. She is a little snippy with new dogs, but usually gets over it pretty quickly and decides to be friends. Penny loves baseball, especially the New York Mets.
Penny is very talented. She knows how to sit and how to give you her paw. Soon she'll be a master of laying down. She's very athletic too. She can jump way up in the air from the sitting position ... she does this when she's excited. She does not smell and she gives very nice kisses. Her friends call her Mrs. Wiggles.
Penny is a great addition to the family and we are lucky to have her. If you ever see her, say hello, and she'll be your friend.
