Although my husband grew up with dogs in his household, I am a first-time dog owner. Last hear, we adopted Jameson, who will be four in September 2017, from the local humane society. One month later, I became gravely ill, nearly dying of kidney failure and sepsis. After returning home from hospitalization, Jameson did not leave my side. Although I know Jameson missed our daily three-mile walks, he somehow knew I was very ill.
Once I recovered, we returned to our daily routine of walks, playing, driving to the "doggy store" (Pet Food grocery) and our other daily rituals. An English foxhound, he is quite hard to control if his scent picks up a fox or rabbit on the local trails, but he is a very loveable dog. He adores adults, children, other pets and has a happy personality. I have been a cat owner my entire life but having a dog is a wonderful experience.
