Here is my little dog. Her name is Luna because we got her on the full moon. We got her from the shelter but it's the usual story, she's a love machine, she rescued me! She's a seven-(or eight)-year-old Chihuahua, and she's perfect in every way. She never answers but her knowing eyes see, feel and understands it all. Being a senior citizen, I try to be active every day. Luna is down for whatever, if I'm hiking she comes with me. If I'm chilling on some Netflix, she's on the couch right next to me. Whatever the situation, Luna seconds the motion! She's the greatest little companion I could ever ask for. I know one day she'll be gone so I consciously cherish, value, and savor every moment that I have with her. I try to take for the care of her, because she takes good care of me.
Luna is actually our second Chihuahua. Our first, who we named Roady, was rescued from our neighbor - an Iraq war veteran who was about to take him out to the desert to shoot him (because Roady peed in the house). We wanted a companion for Roady, so we got Luna from the shelter.
We decided on Luna because of her perky, independent nature. She was in a kennel with several other dogs but she had the most personality and was the most responsive. She's extremely independent, highly intelligent and slightly headstrong - she knows her own mind. She doesn't like strangers or with a few exceptions male dogs. But when she gets to know you and feels comfortable, it's hard to get her off of your lap.
She's real funny, she absolutely refuses to go out in the rain! She's totally spoiled. When it rains really hard, like two or three days in a row I have to shelter her with an umbrella in order to take her out or she won't go. Luna is not really into clothing and/or dressing up. But the contrast between the winter and summer temperatures (115° to 35°F respectively) makes her more agreeable to put on a sweater or coat when the weather gets below 40°F(4°C).
Luna loves to give kisses! Hopefully that tells you a little about my wonderful dog. I can't praise her enough. I really love her so much, she's saved me in ways that I can't describe.
