My brother and his wife adopted Coco at the Humane Society of Broward County, Florida fifteen years ago as a gift to their daughter. She stood out as being a great addition to the family. She has been with the family for fifteen years.
Her personality is family oriented - she barks at strangers that enter the home and barks at them when they leave. She greets family members with a toy when entering the home from work, social engagements, etc. She sleeps on a reclining chair in the den during the day and in the bedroom at night. When my mother visits, she jumps up on a couch and expects to get a belly rub. She enjoys a good bone to chew on at night and barks when someone tries to take it away from her.
She rolls over on command if a treat is present and sits reluctantly each month when flea and heart worm treatments are administered.
I moved in with my brother and his wife about six years ago from Washington, DC and soon realized that Coco would become my best friend.
