Estrella is my first-time dog owning experience! I decided to get a German Shepherd because I've really loved this breed for many years, I am always amazed how versatile they are, loyal, silly, beautiful; I love everything about this breed. And it is a decent dog breed for first-time owner.
We bought Estrella when she was two months old, she came from countryside that was more than an hour of drive from my home. And before buying her, I already had read lots of information how to take care of this breed, dogs overall, and watched lots of dog training videos on YouTube, I spent all whole days getting prepared, and I know that with this breed, I should be ready for trouble, too. I was to excited to train her. That the day after she got home, I already started training her very simple commands, her first commands she learned was "Sit," "Look at me," and respond when her name is called. She was really smart and learned quickly. But we were not able to socialize her with other dogs and people at that age, we later had lots of struggles with her, she barked and lunged at every dog, people, cars she could.
I had almost given up on her, we went to a dog school for a year, but we never learned anything there, and only made it worse. But I thought, that I can do this, I know that she is a wonderful dog, and all I needed was patience and work with her every day. Now, the latest months, she's been a perfect dog. We are going to different professional trainer, and she is amazing on walks, and has a lot of fun, she can even walk well when I don't hold the leash!
A few things now what she loves to do - traveling! If she gets any chance she can jumpin our cars, she will definetly take it, she wants to go with us everywhere, so we sometimes take her to the forest or take a walk in Depo stores to socialize her with many people around. Fun fact - when she was a puppy, she hated water, but now when she's adult, she adores it! She goes crazy for water, and cries when she can't get in pools. Estrella also makes us laugh a lot, with her silly behaviour, expressions, she always cheers our days up and greets us happily when we come home. She also knows over 20 commands, and a lot of people cannot believe that she can do math, but she really does enjoy counting!
I think I got most of it covered! I've got many pictures of her, over thousands in fact, she is my role model for photos, and her tag even says "Beauty Queen" ! She's very photogenic, I could say!
