I tried to take a picture of my puppy while telling her to bow down, and hoped for a nice, elegant bow but instead I got a playful one. Guess it tells a lot about her personality.

She was found outside of the city with no family and most likely abandoned at about one month old. The person who found her unfortunately couldn't take care of her at all, so she posted on Facebook that she will come into the city and if the puppy did not find a home within a day she would be left on the streets.

I was originally planning to buy a Chinese crested powderpuff but when I heard about the small puppy I didn't want her to be left on the streets. I am still not sure if she would have survived with cruel people, cars and potentially aggressive dogs/cats because yes - I saw have seen cats that attacked dogs around here. So I decided to originally foster her, but as time passed I decided to keep this doggo. Our best guess is she is a Jack Russell, long-haired Chihuahua mix, but we don't know for sure.

When I got her, the first day she slept without waking up at all, the second was also very similar except the second day she actually ate for the first time. She continued like that for about a week not really wanting to interact with me (play or anything) but I insisted. I kept waving a sock in front of her and making an excited voice and after about a week she started trying to bite the sock.

As she grew she became VERY toy and food driven, which made it easier to train her to do tricks. She isn't by any means perfect and she is definitely not the prettiest dog I know, but at least she is trying to be a good puppy and I can appreciate that.

I do wonder though, what did she go through before reaching me that made her so indifferent to playing and human touches as a young pup. I wonder, does she still remember those times? Usually traumatic events remain part of the brain but who knows.

By the way, I initially wasn't planning for her to wear clothes at all unless it's for special occasions, but when I took her out during fall she started shaking really badly because of the cold. I got worried about how she will be during winter. This coat was mainly for the pictures, otherwise she wears a less thick one so as to not get her too hot inside the house. But she doesn't mind them at all now, since I do try to change her into different clothes often to keep her used to it. I mean humans would most likely hate clothes too if they didn't have to wear em so often, but they help with the cold a lot. Lizzy agrees. I love her.
