Hello everyone! This is my beloved Bichon Frise, Tiki (full name: Tiki Corduroy). He is two and a half years old. Because of my husband's severe allergies, for most of our marriage, we could not have pets. And I'm an animal lover! We spent 26 years without pets. The only saving grace was that my sister has cats and lives nearby, so I was over there a lot.
Then my husband went gluten-free, and his allergies improved enough that we could get a Bichon! Bichon, like poodles, have hair, not fur, so they do not shed. This makes them better for people with allergies. It means they need haircuts - to be groomed from time to time, but so do we humans, so no big deal, right? Tiki is my great joy - I am so grateful for him, each and every day. He's a great dog, too. He is super friendly, loves everyone, is playful, smart. I think he's the best dog in the world, actually.
In the photo where he is wearing his Hawaiian shirt- a friend brought that back for him when she was there! Doesn't he look dapper? The photo where I'm with him, and my sister is holding him, was taken when he was a baby! Woof!
