Sassy is a gorgeous Bernese Mountain Dog and Golden Retriever mix. She was a mistake in the breeder's eyes, but has never been that way for us.
Sassy has brought our family together unlike anything else. She waits at the door for each one of us to get home during the day and each time we arrive her excitement makes it seem like we haven't been there in years. I can't imagine coming home to anyone else!
She is huge like a Bernese, but cuddly and playful like a Golden! Her name is Sassy because well, she is just that. She is definitely the queen of the household, which is perfectly fine.
Fun Facts: She loves to stay in bed all day. She is also terrified of flies. She knows "give me paw." If you make a kissing noise/face at her she'll lick you, and she'll eat food from your mouth like the famous scene from "Lady and the Tramp."
Sassy is very much a gentle giant. She is more of an independent type in general, but she is a big talker. When she wants something, you'll know it. She will either flick you with her paw or nudge you with her nose. She is also very polite because she has a habit of "knocking" on the doors if they're closed and she wants to go in, again she'll just flick her paw at the door. She also knows the sound of the treat jar opening and will come running, but her favorite foods are cheese and eggs. Finally, when she does "dog-like" things we are taken aback because she's just such a big part of the family we don't think of her as a pet! She even sleeps in the bed like a human, at the top and with her head on a pillow.
