When I take him to work with me he's Patch the Server Dog.. At home he's Sheriff Patch, keeping the squirrel army at bay While hiking he's Ranger Patch. On the motorcycle he's just known as The Motorcycle Dog around town. As you can see, he wears his own dog goggles - doggles - to protect his eyes when we are on the motorcycle.
Ge never leaves my side, which was especially thoughtful of him through the months of cancer and divorce. He best trick is he plays dead when you point and "shoot" at him by saying "bang."
The most fascinating feature of this dog is his ability to communicate. He'll look at you until you get up then lead you to what he wants. For water he walks to the bathroom and looks at the shower (I now keep a much bigger bowl down for him.)
He refuses to eat dog food. If I'm not eating it he doesn't want it, so I cook for him most nights. Liver, pork, rice, cheese and some veggies. I know, he's spoiled, but I make sure he stays healthy, and only give him dog-safe food.
Patch prefers to be with me and will ignore other dogs for the most part. He's a great walker, very satisfying as he's so excited to walk - even though we go almost every day for an extended walk.
In the summer we ride the motorcycle to the lake daily and he retrieves a blue Reebok sandal over and over, ometimes swimming after the ducks for a while instead.
He's next to me on the bed, as always right now and I wouldn't have it any other way. He's a great companion.
