Rusty Dog is an unknown mix, with both chow chow and golden traits and about 55lbs. He is proof that you can find love on the internet. My wife saw him three years ago on the local SPCA's (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ) web site around 9:00 am. He had some of the cutest puppy eyes in the bios/picture listing. We rushed to be first in line when their doors opened at noon. He was better looking in person. My wife fell in love instantly. I was not sure about his attention span but loved his sweet and affectionate displays. As the weeks went by I realized our puppy son is one of my most favored, sane and caring relatives.
With the exception of postal workers, Rusty Dog loves everyone he meets. One election day we all walked to the polling location and took turns holding Rusty and voting. We I walked out of the building and took him from the wife, a little girl told her mom, "he is cute and he gives kisses." He is always giving kisses to strangers. One extended visit to the park resulted in him kissing /accepting pets from people of three continents.
Rust is not a frequent barker. When the neighborhood dogs bark, he runs outside looks around and only if he sees the cause barks. This trait makes city living easier.
Another trait that is great about our puppy son is his apparent belief that bullying is wrong. Often when we go for walks, stray little dogs chase after and occasionally nip at his heels. He just looks at them, grins, and keeps on walking. He is so very laid back.
