Maverick loves dressing up, guarded my daughter's crib from her first days home, came and got me when she cried, protects us, loves the beach, loves other dogs, loves running, and sits pretty.
He is definitely a people person dog. When my daughter was a baby, he has a foot licking fetish so he and she both loved it when he would lick her toes. We also have a Shar-Pei/ Pitbull mix. They love playing and my daughter has always giggled when she watched them play. The first time she focused in on Maverick she smiled. It was so adorable. He knows how to stand and walk on his hind legs, so he used to stand up and watches me change diapers. He also knows not to go on counters too, so instead of putting his paws on the counter, he stands up and looks on the counters to see if anything is worth getting in trouble for. Lol. He acts just like a third parent to my daughter.
He's my dog and the Shar Pei mix is my husband's. His favorite thing to do is by far running. He knows tons of commands. We trained him by talking to him like a person. He knows go in the other room, go upstairs, go through the tube, hop up (on something), go down (stairs or slide), get out of the kitchen, sit, lay, stay, put your head down, get (jumps about four feet to get a treat), pretty boys (dances on his hind legs), over (for hurdles), and tons of other things just there are so many I can't remember them all. He loves dressing up in shorts and t shirts and other clothing, guards my daughter, protects us by barking at everything- but only when my husband is gone as is he extremely protective. He loves the beach but not so much the water-mostly loves the sand and digging He sleeps in the most uncomfortable positions, loves other dogs and tries to herd them. He will even go and retrieve my mom's dog when he is outside. He is the best dog ever!
