This is one of my dogs, Marvin, a Boston/Chi mix. He was adopted from a shelter and was (heartworm positive. Marvin was quite a challenge at first because he did not know what being in a home was like. He jumped up on kitchen counters and stole food, got into the trash, knocked over things and broke them, pulled curtains from windows, dragged pillows around and worst of all, chewed a dog-sized hole through a door (see photo). Dogs are supposed to stay inactive during heartworm treatment, but Marvin is very active and did not like being left in a bedroom to keep him calm, so he chewed a dog-sized hole in the door and escaped.
Fortunately, Marvin is very smart and eager to please, so he learned quickly how to be a good dog. He loves playing with his dog sisters, sleeping in our bed, being scratched and cuddled, playing with his toys, going for walks, eating and chewing on bones, and following me everywhere. He added a lot of energy and fun to our household. Recently, he saved our blind dog who had been frightened by a loud noise by sprinting in front of her and turning her before she could run into a fence. Marvin became our hero and our blind dog's service dog. He has definitely found his forever home where he is loved and cared for and his many talents appreciated. Excuse the poor photos but my dogs did not understand what I was doing and my cat photo-bombed most of them!
