Hello, my name is Lizzie. For a while, my life was turned up side down. Now things are much better. It all started when my original Mom passed away suddenly. They came to our house to take her away. Then Huntsville Animal Services came for me. I was put in the shelter. That is no place for a little, senior girl like me. Fortunately a foster family took me to their home. They treated me great, plenty of food, walks and everything. The only bad part was they had eight cats that weren't too fond of me.
Then another animal lover posted my picture on Facebook. She mentioned my new mom by name and asked her if she "had room at the inn?" How could Mom say "no"? She met with my foster Dad in the afternoon, and took me to her house. It was a twenty-mile ride, and I was worried what was going to happen next.
Mom has plenty of other dogs that are used to her bringing new ones home. They sniffed me and welcomed me in. I quickly learned where the food dish was. It is always full. Mom passes out treats and I wait my turn. Since most of us are small we have a ramp to get up on the bed. One fun thing is we have a big, fenced in yard to run and play. I love to chase Suzy. She is bigger and faster, but that's fine. I flirt with Charlie. I walk around him, rub up against him and poke my nose in his side. So far he doesn't seem interested, but I won't give up. This makes Mom laugh.
Mom could not adopt me right away because of the court case. Since my original Mom passed away without leaving anyone of her choice to take me, the court had to decide. Please, if you live alone and have pets, make sure you have someone that is willing to take care of them if something happens to you. Mom has several people that will help us find new homes if anything happens to her, so she knows we will always be safe.
